SHREDDER RESIDUE
PROCESSING PLANT (SRA)

At the Enns site, TBS has been operating 2006, a mechanical sorting plant for separating complex waste mixtures of plastics, light materials and metals (shredder residue processing plant). This SRA system is designed for the treatment Hazardous and non-hazardous waste approved with a total quantity of 130,000 t/a in continuous operation.

The process used in the plant is an exclusively mechanical treatment (recycling process R12/R3/R4) with the aim of achieving the highest possible comprehensive recovery of metals and organic matter. The waste is used to shredded and sorted into 21 output materials using different separation processes. Of these, 20 materials are recycled and 1 residue is disposed of. The output materials are plastic granulates, fluff and 18 different metal fractions.

What happens to the rest that remains?

To date, the residues from the SRA plant cannot yet be fully utilized. Therefore, the fluff is sent for thermal utilization and the fine fraction is deposited in a residual waste landfill. This will change in the future...

The solution = TMG

We developed the solution for high-quality recycling of SRA residues in the form of a novel and revolutionary pyrometallurgical process.
