The construction of the KSA is progressing rapidly.

Since the groundbreaking ceremony on March 3, 2023, a lot has happened in the construction of Europe's most modern sorting plant in Enns. Just recently, a screening drum was installed at a height of 16 meters.

With a sorting capacity of 100,000 tons per year, 50% of Austria's sorting capacity for lightweight packaging is covered. An important step for the European circular economy and a milestone for plastics recycling in Austria.

State-of-the-art sensor technology and artificial intelligence increase quality
Equipped with the latest near-infrared sensor technology and with the aid of artificial intelligence, it processes raw materials in a fully digitalized manner and achieves a significantly higher output with increased quality at the same time. The sensors detect, analyze and separate 20 different waste fractions by type. In this way, the raw materials are prepared for recycling without any loss of quality.

Climate-friendly logistics concept and renewable energies
The site has been planned in a logistically sustainable manner and, thanks to the direct rail connection for the simultaneous unloading of up to 5 block trains, enables low-emission and climate-friendly transport by rail. The plant itself is operated by its own PV system. The new sorting plant is thus particularly climate-friendly and contributes to regional value creation - among other things by creating more than 40 new jobs.
